Czesława Frejlich is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow and a professor. She teaches design at the Faculty of Industrial Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow and at the Faculty of Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She was an active industrial and graphic designer until the year 2000.
She is a co-organiser of the Polish National Biennial of the Art of Designing, an editor of Biuletyn Sztuki Projektowania (Art of Designing Magazine), and a curator of exhibitions such as Na miarę człowieka – ergonomia a wzornictwo (1993), Krzesło’94 (1994), Rzeczy pospolite (2000–2001), Dealing with Consumption (2004), Real-World Laboratory. Central European Design (2008–2009),DiseñoContemporáneoPolaco (2011).
She published a number of articles, essays and books on design, including Rzeczy pospolite – polskie wyroby 1899 – 1999, BOSZ ART (2001) andOut of the Ordinary. Polish Designers of the 20th Century, Adam Mickiewicz Institute (2011). She has been the editor-in-chief of the Polish quarterly 2+3D since 2001.
